Poor Dr. Seuss falling victim to his lesser being. War makes people do stupid and short sighted things.

http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=track+drop+handlebar&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title

There are a ton of options. Here's just a vague list I got from searching google. Each item has a description which tells you the width and drop of the bars. Really, it's up to the rider and how comfortable they feel with each dimension; but usually smaller riders, or ones with shorter arms are better off with shallower drops.

Re: Mavic Ellipse Wheelset $275 OBO

January 5, 2009 by yacqueli

Actually, FS threads are not for discussions. And Jason is partly right, although the approach could have been a bit different. For future reference, PM's hold your position on a sale much better than calling dibs in a thread; and people looking at the item will have a harder time finding out if its still available etc. if they have to sort through a bunch of posts.

And for Steve, please don't post your conditions like this, because if the seller is interested then he will contact you about it.

Actually, I'm gonna wait. If I get this HED wheel and the rear Mavic is still up for grabs.. I'm hustlin'!

Thank you guys for understanding, I will be cleaning this thread up a little bit.

Re: Great Tool, Shit Name...the Trixie Tool.

January 5, 2009 by yacqueli

I really like the idea of this tool as far as keeping it on you while you're riding, but I do also think that it would be very smart to get a quality tool set that is made up of multiple tools to keep at home.

Road bars are straight across and more broad for comfort, because (in theory/practice) when riding a road bike you are on top of the bars for the most part. Track drops have a different shape because you are not supposed to depend on the top part for the majority of your riding, you are supposed to stay in your drops so your arms are more comfortable with track drops when in the "aero" position. Then you can always go into how some drops are more shallow than others making the transition from each position so drastic, and more comfortable for the rider.

Hope that makes sense.

Re: belt drive fixed gears

how bout everyone with a belt drive just run the same gear, and that solves everything!

Not if the bikes have different geometry..... Suckah!

Re: SE Draft Review (plz tell me)

January 5, 2009 by yacqueli

I thought everyone knew the draft spins a 700?

I don't think that it's a good trait to look for when inquiring about a bike's quality. If you want a cheap beater bike, this would be the way to go. Seeing as how you have a conversion already, you should just save up and get a better bike instead of making a teeny weeny babystep up from the bike you already have.

Here's my car. 2007 GTI MKV w/ 18" Hufs. I've lowered it with an H&R Sport Cup Kit, (2" drop) I wanted to get the APR software for it, but I don't think I'm going to bother to be honest.
