hahaha... samsies! but also the movie Breaking Away. I'm old enough to remember seeing this movie on tv when i was young. I thought road bikes with drops looked badass. I started looking at a bike for commuting 2 miles on flatland and decided i dont want to deal with gears since i would never use them. and... yeah, i wanted to do skiddies again.

not trying to be a dick... buuuut this coming from someone whos icon is a pair of velocity deep v's? you do realize that hoop, has been out dated for over i dunno 15 YEARS, and until a few years ago those hoops sat in warehouses untouched because they are so outdated... aaaand the only reason they were brought back around is for trendy new jack kids (no offense intended) to match their wheels with their bikes, and shoes, and hair and what ever the fuck they want to. they also used to be like $30 a hoop... now they are what?.. $80? and now there is a b43, and even deeper cooler sicker verion of the already outdated deep v with 13mm deeper of a wheel well.
i dont know you, but at one point (knowing southern californias "fixie" history) probably rather recently, you were too a newbie. so yeah cut him some slack. everyone has their reasons to ride bikes. and everyone has to start somewhere. i dont like the trendiness, its like a bully that used to beat your ass everyday coming around doing the same things he used to beat you up for. but i bite my lip because whats trendy now, wont be for long... who knows... YOU might fall off with the trend.

Orange deep v's because orange happens to be my color, deep v's because this is a fixed forum.
